I had a great time at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show this past Saturday. There were so many beautiful quilts. I've put together a collage with some of my favorites.
The town has a quilt store called the Stitchin' Post that has beautiful fabric. They sell modern fabric that many chain stores don't carry. You can order fabric right from their website, which I may be doing. However, thanks to my mother-in-law, I didn't go away empty handed. This is what I came home with....
Yep, I am going to attempt to make my first piece quilt! The kit above came with all the fabric I will need inside. Isn't the box it came in super cute? The suggested pattern is below, but I am not sure if that is the pattern I will do yet. I am contemplating doing a quilt made of all stripes. Anyhow, I fell in love with the fabric and had to have it. I am excited to get going!
so cute!! You can get some super cute and modern fabric at beverlys on madison, around the corner from deseret book and distribution.

I started my first quilt (a patriotic theme) when I was pregnant with William. I got it all pieced, but that's it. 8 years and 5 children later, I still have it folded up with my sewing stuff waiting to be quilted and bound.
