One of the readers here wondered how I add text to the photos on this blog. I thought it would be a post many of you may also enjoy. I use Picasa, Google's free photo organizing and editing software. Check out this previous post on Picasa for info on how to download.
Once you have Picasa open double click on the photo you would like to edit and the editing screen shown below will open. To add text click on the "Text" button circled in red below.
Next, click on the photo to begin typing. The boxes circled in red below allow you to adjust font, size, color, and centering.
Click on the text box border to move the text to the desired location.
When your text is completed click the "Apply" button.
You will then be taken back to the main Picasa screen. You then need to select the photos with the text you would like to export. Click on the photo and then press the hold key, which is located at the bottom of the screen and it looks like a green lightning bolt. When all desired photos to export are in your hold tray click the "Export" button, which looks like a file folder.
The Export to Folder box will pop up and look like this. You can resize the file in this box, choose where to export your photos to, and if you would like to add a watermark. I add my blog address as a watermark on all my photos I export.
That's it! All you need to do is located your photos where you saved them when you are ready to send, scrapbook, or print them.
I needed this. I am very visual. THANK YOU! Staci
